Which programming option is best for me?

Modify the existing PNC port option

USB Port Option

USB Port Option

For this option, we modify the Play n’ Charge port, so the Play n’ Charge cable is used for programming the Viking. This, however, limits the charge capability of the Play n’ Charge cable. Meaning you would need to use your battery pack to play. Also, the charge LED on the PnC cable will no longer function and you would have to use the on-screen battery charge indicator to check charge status.

Why would I want this option?
If you prefer a more ‘stock’ look to your controller, modifying the Play n’ Charge to be used for programming eliminates the need for an extra 3.5mm hole in the controller.

Add a 3.5mm jack option

3.5mm Jack Option

For this option, the Play n’ Charge port maintains 100% original functionality. You can Play n’ Charge to your heart’s content. We add a small 3.5mm jack to the back of the controller, and include a 3.5mm to USB cable for programming your Viking controller.

Why would I want this option?
If you prefer to use the Play n’ Charge cable as it was originally intended by Microsoft, you should choose the addition of a 3.5mm jack for programming the Viking.

paint jobs are prone to flaking if we drill a hole for the 3.5mm jack.
